I wish y’all could be here to enjoy this absolutely stunningly beautiful fall day in Georgia. I’m just sitting here on a bench in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park, watching the ducks swim by on the lake.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s breathtakingly relaxing to wander around with everyone else just out and enjoying the weather. Well manicured lawns with the tips of skyscrapers poking out above the treetops make a relaxing backdrop to just bask in some perfect fall bliss before it’s time to go back to the grind.

Kinja'd!!!

Oh yeah, and I’m eating a delicious homemade gluten free cookie. Happy Saturday!

We’ve been out at the remote beaches as much as possible, no smoke these days, hopefully it won’t be back. I’m going to my friend’s shop on Tuesday to get the Acura brakes changed and I will find out what they are doing with the truck. I’ve been waiting for the disk kit.... the smoke delayed it, now no smoke so I wonder if they did it.... It’s nice to have a friend with a shop but it’s also hard to yell at them when they don’t seem to be moving along.

That view is beautiful! It’s hard to actually go somewhere remote without a car but Piedmont Park is massive and there lots of room to spread out.

Let us know about progress on the Dodge.

We have a lot of open space here, normal parks, we only go for the dog park, the fewer people the better for me and that’s not just a covid thing! I wish I could be around here around the time Sir Francis Drake visited. I will take a look at the truck, I bought all the rear drum parts so I don’t know if they did that either. I really wish they had finished more before covid, some of it wasn’t their fault, their mom was really ill and they reduced shop hours and took breaks. Covid, fire smoke... it never ends. If one thing leads to another and I end up changing the tranny or something I think I found a shop that has some old dodge pickups and Jeeps in front of it. I emailed them to ask some questions and he didn’t say no to any of it, just had some other questions for me, so that could be a way to do something faster.

Most unused land on the East Coast is privately owned land. There’s much less large areas of government owned land.

So you're beginning to get a little inpatient with the rate of progress on your truck? Makes sense that you'd be a frustrated at this point. The delays do never end.

Well it’s been two years, they didn’t get around to starting it because a guy had a big dollar El Camino restoration and that ate up like six months. Now I just have time to think about it, when we were slammed working I couldn’t think about it too much, then throw some money at them to do the next thing if they managed to finish something.

I didn't realize it had been quite that long. Yeah you can't complain too much about waiting for the bug dollar projects to finish.

Good! Atlanta is beautiful at this time of year! It was just perfect brisk fall weather, ideal for aimless wandering.

Kinja'd!!!

I did a long loop on foot through campus to Piedmont Park all the way downtown then back by Centennial Olympic then headed back. It was great!

I hope you mean the pillars on the dock and not the concrete mound in the Noguchi Playscape.

Internet photo

Other than a photo op, that dock seems to still be used for largely the same thing.

I also have sat by the lake in Piedmont Park with some friends staring out over the water through the darkness in the wee hours of the morning but no joints were involved.

Or did you mean the concrete mound?

Oh I meant the mound. It would be hard to contribute to the delinquency of 18 year old me, but then gf turned me on to Randys wired rolling papers

Okay, it is a pretty good place to sit. The Noguchi Playscape is a national treasure.

Lived in Roswell/Alpharetta area for high school late 80s. Reasons to go intown by day were Piedmont Park and Little Five Points.  By night Piedmont Park, Panchos restaurant (they would serve us alcohol) and the Metroplex.

I went to HS a little further out in the suburbs where people were less willing to go into the big scary city for some reason. But now that I’m living here in Atlanta I really appreciate it for what it is. I lov e it here!
